As described at the web page http://www.pa.iasf.cnr.it/cgi-bin/pubIASF.cgi?href=electronic/instruments/delphin/index.html , the Delphin interface we build allow any electronic hardware to be seen as “disk unit”.
This first prototypal version of interface works under many Operating Systems and the access is accomplished by “I/O file direct access” functions, bypassing the “Operating System File Buffering”.
We developed also four LabView functions, in attachment, to assure the above-mentioned “direct access” under Windows (under construction for Linux).
We will be very pleased to know if other solutions better solve buffering problem in LabView.
Next version of Delphin interface will include also the “Removable Disk” operating mode. This will bypass too the “Operating System File Buffering”, spending just a little I/O data overhead.
Thank you. Best regards. gaetano agnetta
