By default a chart is not cleared before the VI is re-started. In most of my (and my student's) applications it is desirable to have the chart cleared. It can be done programmatically with the History property of the chart terminal, but this is relatively cumbersome. A simpler and more user-friendly way would be to add a check-box for selecting between e.g. "Initial clearing the chart" and "Keep previous data in chart" on the Appearance tab of the Property window of the chart. The Property window is also the natural place to look for such an option.
