State machine diagram (new user)

I got the toolkit for state machine diagram. But Io didn't found option in the labview Vi. So, I wanted to know where should I find or how should I open a Vi with state machine editor option in it?

If you had LabVIEW running when you installed the toolkit, you'll need to restart it.

After you restart, go to the block diagram and on the Functions palette, look for a sub palette with an icon as shown in the image. In that palette, click on the icon and your cursor will change to a frame like you're going to draw a While or For loop. This is to let you draw a State Machine structure on the diagram. After you draw it, you can right click on the border of the outer While loop and select "Edit State Diagram". This will open the diagram editor.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

Hi,

I wanted to know where to place the state diagram's files in LabView 8.0.1? Since I've upgraded from 7.1 all the directories for the addons have changed. Could you please help?

In the future, you should start a new post for a new issue rather than reply to an old post! The State Diagram Toolkit will work with LabVIEW 8.0, but you cannot use it concurrently with LabVIEW 7.x. You must uninstall the toolkit under the LabVIEW 7.x directory, then reinstall the toolkit and point it to the new LabVIEW 8 directory.

Kind Regards,
