Slider control acting as an indicator

Hi, I'm new on using labview, so please sorry for my ignorance

I want to use an slider to control a step-by-step motor position.

Sometimes the motor doesn't reach the target, and then i would like to update the slider position to show the real position instead of the setpoint.

But i have seen that this is not possible if the slider is not configured as an indicator.

Is out there any real methode of doing this?

You can update controls using local variables (right click the slide and Create Local Variable).
