Skin LabVIEW

Hi, does anybody know how to 'skin' a vi. I have a small bitmap that i want
to repeat across the front of the VI. I realise i could do this with a
picture control, but i think this will make the program very slow.

Hi,
The idea is to copy image to clipboard then to click somewhere on the panel and then to paste it. You can do it using menu item "Edit->Paste".

If you have the bitmap in BMP file then you can use "Edit->Import Picture From File" to import picture directly from file to clipboard. And then you can paste it on front panel again.

Unfortunetly I think there is no simple way to tile the panel with the picture (I mean to repeat the picture over whole the panel like web brousers do with background images). In this case you will need to create the tile manually.

Good luck.

I've done this before, and I took the small bitmap into a paint program,
did the tiling there to make a larger bitmap which I just pasted on the
back of the LV panel. Since I was trying to make it look cool, I also
applied lighting to give the wallpaper a more professional look. The
standard stuff on web pages usually comes off so flat.

From a style point of view, you might also find that solid colored
backgrounds are fine if you place some border graphics around the
screen. Placing a logo that runs flush across the top and perh
aps a
strip down the left edge.
