SCXI 1001 Chassis Question

I will try to beter explane the problem. I have a SCXI 1001 Chassis set up as follows
This is how the SCXI chassis is configured.
Slot 1 SCXI-1102 with SCXI-1303 Terminal Block

0 Field Thermocouple 1 for motor 1 All J Type Thermocouples
1 Field Thermocouple 2 for motor 1
2 Field Thermocouple 1 for motor 2
3 Field Thermocouple 2 for motor 2
4 Field Thermocouple 1 for motor 3
5 Field Thermocouple 2 for motor 3
6 Field Thermocouple 1 for motor 4
7 Field Thermocouple 2 for motor 4

9 Current For motor 1 0-50 Mv
10 Current For motor 2
11 Current For motor 3
12 Current For motor 4
Slot 2 SCXI-1125 with SCXI-1328 Terminal Block.

0 Brush Thermocouple 1 for motor 1
1 Brush Thermocouple 2 for motor 1
2 Brush Thermocouple 1 for motor 2
3 Brush Thermocouple 2 for motor 2
4 Brush Thermocouple 1 for motor 3
5 Brush Thermocouple 2 for motor 3
6 Brush Thermocouple 1 for motor 4
7 Brush Thermocouple 2 for motor 4
Slot 3 SCXI-1125 with SCXI-1327 Terminal Block

CH
0 Voltage Motor 1
1 Voltage Motor 2
2 Voltage Motor 3
3 Voltage Motor 4

Slot 4 SCXI-1126 with SCXI-1327 Terminal Block

Ch
0 Speed Motor 1
1 Speed Motor 2
2 Speed Motor 3
3 Speed Motor 4

Slot 5 SCXI-1124 with SCXI-1325 Terminal Block

CH
0 Motor Controller output for motor 1
1 Motor Controller output for motor 2
2 Motor Controller output for motor 3
3 Motor Controller output for motor 4

Slot 6 SCXI-1161

CH
0 Contactor Motor 1
1 Contactor Motor 2
2 Contactor Motor 3
3 Contactor Motor 4
4 valve 1
5 valve 2
6 valve 3
7 valve 4
Fantom Data
appears on random chanels. These values are seen in the LabView Program
code
and at the Max level as well. Examples are as follows, Temp Chanels on the
SCXI 1102 may stick at 25...something C, Temp Chanels on the 1125 slot 2
will stick at 208, -206, or some value that looks like a open. I Have
varfyied that there is no open. Voltage Chanels on the
1125 slot 3 will stick at 99.6. Sometimes the Speed sensor chanels will
not read. Sometimes the 1124 slot 5 will not give a output.
The problem occures most with temps and I think that is the case
because there is more of them than anything else.
The chanels these problems occure on are random and in multiple
combinations
with no real pattern. I have looked at these values in the Max Level to
eliminate the possiability of a programing error. We have also looked at
the input voltages, Thermocouples ect with meters and a scope where they
terminate to the terminal block to eliminate the possiability of a hardwire problem . Basicaly we get the correct value on the Hard Wiring and read incorect in Labview and Max.
NOW
if you go and do a chassis reset in Max the numbers come back and read
correct in labview and in Max. sometimes it may take 2 or 3 resets to get
ALL the chanels to come back

I have attached a copy of my Chassis Configuration with the hope that it
will give you a better understanding of how the system is set up.

The basic opperation is 4 motors are under test. each Motor has 4 J type
thermocouples, 2 on slot 1 and 2 on slot 2. Each Motor has Current
monitored with a 50mv 500A Shunt Slot DC Mv Signal. Each Motor Has
voltsge
monitored on slot 3. Speed Monitored on Slot 4, A output voltsge sent to a
motor controller on slot 5 and A contactor and valve switched on in slot6.

Just to eliminate a couple of things.

I have determined that the 1102 is not the problem. I Have obtained one to
change out and that did not change anything.

I have spent a extencive amount of time on this project and I feel
the problem is with the chassis itself, but I want to determine it for fact to be the problem before we send it in
for service. Now I am only making a guess here and I am looking for some more direct answers since I have limmited experience working with SCXI and Labview. Labview and NI is new to me and I myself do not have a lot of experence However I have been working hand and Hand with a VERY Experienced Labview Programer and he has also been working to find some answers for me also, with very limmited and vague results from NI.

I gave all this information hoping it will give a more through
understanding
on what is going on.

If Anyone has some good feedback I would Greatly Appreciate it.

I am a little disturbed that NI referes me to this discussion board for me to try to find a answer after spending good money for the SCXI Hardware, Labview Software and TECH SUPPORT!

Thank You,
Mike

Cant help with most of that, but in regards to the tech support... The forums are the "free" support options. If you know you paid for support then call your local NI rep (and have your serial number handy for thier reference) so they can fix it. Happened to me once. Purchased a system and when my agent placed the order she did not reference me as the end user. Lacking a better target the purchaser was given the support instead. It took a couple of days but they got it fixed and ive been happy as a tick ever since...

Good Morning,
When doing a search on the SCXI 1001 chassis I came across this thread regarding problems that sound a lot like yours (ours!)

"SCXI-1001 Giving Erroneously Scaled Data".
