Hi all,
I'm using a PCI-6229 board interfacing with a SCC-68. I saw in the datasheet that the typical output current from the digital IOs is 5mA.
I also saw that it's possible to use an external power supply for the board. I was wondering if the output current could be increased by using a 5V supply that can supply up to 2A.
Thanks for the help.

Hello,
Please read page 19 of the SCC-68 datasheet as it specifies that external power supplies are used to increase the current available for the modules so the unit is not underpowered as a whole, but does not say that it will increase the current capability of a DIO pin. So I would not suggest trying to draw more than 5ma from one DIO pin! 🙂
