Running old executable

Hello,  I am helping a coworker get (trying) a LabVIEW executable up and running.  His computer crashed and the hard drive was replaced.  He has a copy of the installer for the executable which was created by L3.  He wasn't sure of the run-time engine but he thought it was LabVIEW 6.  We loaded the run-time engine and installed the executable.  When we open the executable it searches for fgen32.llb.  He was able locate something (driver, llb) for the fgen.  He installed that file and the vi now opens but when it is run a DAQ error occurs.  I know this is vague but if anyone has some ideas we'd appreciate it.  THANK YOU!

You will need to install device drivers and Traditional DAQ.

A quick call to NI Customer service should get you pointed to a location where you can download the correct version.  (That package is SO old that its not easilly available)

Also L3 may have kept a record of the system configuration (Hardware config and software config) and a call to them may get some good answers

Thanks!  We have tried contacting L3 but the developer is long gone and there is nobody there to help us....very little documentation there or here.  I will try ni but I thought we needed a service agreement in order to get assistance over the phone.  Thanks, again!

Hi momof4,

The Traditional NI-DAQ software can be downloaded here:

http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/106/lang/en

That is version 7.1. If you have LabVIEW  6.0 Run-Time Engine then this should work. You can refer to the article shown below for compatibility information between NI-DAQ and LabVIEW versions.

The device drivers can be downloaded from the same Drivers and Updates section on ni.com.
