Running 2 VIs simultaneously under Win NT.

Hello,
I am running 2 standalone LabVIEW (6.0) executables on the same machine
under windows NT4. They are sending data to each other over a DDC 1553 Bus
in the PC.When I click from one window to the other, the speed of one
dramatically drops. I don't even need to click on the window, the same thing
happens if I click from one application to the other on the taskbar. The
same thing also happens if I minimise one, then click on the window of the
other.
Does anybody know how changing the window order or selecting particular
windows affects applications under Windows NT? I've got both VIs set with
pretty high priority.
Cheers. Andy.

It sounds like an NT issue. The window in front (the one that has focus) may have higher priority. I'm not sure how to set this in NT 4.0, but I know that in Win2000 you can set this option by going to Control Panel >> System Properties >> Advanced >> Performance.

Found a web site for you: http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/877/

I would recommend not using the registry to do this.

Andy,

Try reducing your video(Hardware) acceleration in the Control Panel >
System > Performance > Graphics.
