Report generation microsoft tools missing in LV 8.5.1

I upgraded LabView from 8.5 to 8.5.1 and installed all of the toolkits. all of the toolkits seem to be working except for the report generation toolkit as the menu doesn't show any of the word or excel options. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi,

I've got the same trouble. The problem was solved with repairing. (Go to Control Panel->Software->National Instruments Software, then select NI Report GEneration Toolkit for Microsoft Office 1.1.2, and press "Repair" (You will need to insert CD with toolkit and select nisdist.id). After that all was screwed up for me.

best regards,
Andrey.

Hi there,

I had this problem too.  But fortunately others had posted their problems to various message boards and I was able to solve it easily.

I didn't try Andrey's method.  (It may be faster)

I went into Windows control panel --> Add/Remove Programs --> National Instruments.   When you select that, another menu opens so that you can select which component to remove.  I uninstalled the Report Generation Toolkit and then re-installed.   Worked just fine.

Thanks for the replies, I found that uninstalling and re-installing fixed the problem.  The trick was working out how to uninstall individual toolkits.

Add report generation to menu in addons? I have unstalled and reinstalled several times but it will not show up as a menu item.  Tries to manually add you no luck.  It is installed but just doesn't show up in the menu pallet.

Path to VIs: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\addons\_office

Hello Matthew,

this toolkit will not show up as an additional palette. It replaces the standard NI Report palette. You cannot have both the standard NI Report and the Report toolkit side by side on one installation.

Hi Matthew,

Do you see Report Generation Toolkit in NI License Manager? Is it activated? Which version of LV do you have?

Regards,

My bad.  It installed just fine but was looking in the wrong place.  Forgot that replaced a pallet and didn't add a new one.

Thanks!

Matt
