Remove the checkmark from a ring control

When you click on a ring control on the front panel to see the items in the ring the item that is presently selected has a checkmark next to it. 

Does anyone know of a way to remove that checkmark?

I'd rather not change the control itself from a ring to something else.

Hi Tom,

you can use the "Mouse Down?" event to set the value of the ring control to a not defined value. If the current value is not in the Ring list, then no value is marked.
