When creating a Source Distribution build type, there is an option to remove block diagrams from VIs under Source File Settings. For me this set of files is typically from an auto-populate folder, and all settings are applied to all files in a particular directory. Recently I was exploring the idea of removing block diagrams from VIs in this folder by clicking Set Save Settings for All Contained Items, for the folder and then selecting Remove Block Diagram. Unfortunately if you try to remove the block diagram of a VIM things break, since a VIM functions as an edit time type propagation function. I see this as a bug since you are allowed to make a setting in a build that will always result in a failed build. I'd suggest just silently including the block diagram, or give a notice that VIMs will have their block diagrams included in the build.
