Real Time Remote Front Panels and Silverlight

Solved!
Go to solution

Do LabVIEW 2019 Remote Front Panels hosted by a real time device (cRIO) require a Silverlight plugin in the client browser?

If so, what other tools are available for viewing front panels served from a cRIO? (Silverlight plugin is not supported in recent versions of most browsers, or so I've heard.)

Thanks,

Hi Hamilton,

2 parts to this answer:

1. Remote Front Panels do in fact require a Silverlight plugin in the browser.

2. We actually generally recommend using an HMI to communicate with your cRIO over Remote Front Panels if possible. In this setup, the HMI provides the user with a GUI for monitoring the system’s state and setting operating parameters. You can find more information on using HMI's here:

Hope this helps!
