Questions about generating signals from the sound card

Hi All,

I'm a student very inexperienced with labview. I'm trying to design a lockin amplifier vi for a NI-PCI 4462 daq board. I want to be able to generate a sine wave signal from my sound card to use as the reference signal. I looked into Generate_Sound.vi, but couldn't figure out how I would be able to adjust the voltage instead of the volume (I would like to know the Vrms).

In addition, I would like to send the generated signal to the lockinPLL.vi phase lock loop somehow, but I'm pretty lost there as well (maybe this question belongs in a different board?).

Thanks in advanced for the help!

When you say you want to generate a sine wave from your sound card, do you mean that you're trying to output an actual sine wave to be measured by the DAQ, or are you generating a sine wave based on input into the sound card?
