Question about Format Into String Function

Hi, I make file name using Format Into String Function.

 

I want to make file name

Date_Name_bio.txt

but Format Into String Function create blank(spacing?)

So, file name is made 

Date _ Name _ bio .txt

How can i remove blank(spacing?)??

I cannot see the format specifications. Why are you hiding it?

 

What would you get if you would replace the "format into string" by a simple "concatenate strings"? Seems to have the same functionality.

 

Please attach the actual VI. Your picture is not useful to troubleshoot. Could also be a unicode related problem.

I solve the problem by using concatenate strings function.

You could also set your format string to be "%s_%s_Bio.txt" and then only have the two inputs (date and name).  I find this a lot easier to read than the giant mess of wires going into a large Cancatinate String.

Yes, that's what I typically do too in these cases. I bet the original format statement (hidden behind the node, I guess), probably was (%s %s %s ...) and thus included spaces (should have been %s%s%s...). Note that the ":edit format string" helper tool auto-inserts spaces and I guess that's what happened here. (we complained about these automatic spaces in the (very) distant past :D)
