If you double-click on a VI in the Windows environment, Windows will use the most recently used application to open that VI...if the last version of LabVIEW you ran was the LabVIEW Player, then it will use the Player to open those VIs. The easiest way to get around this is to open normal LabVIEW, then use the File >> Open option in there instead of double-clicking on a VI in the Windows environment.
