Programmatically set active row column Tree Control

I noticed I get error -1077 if the Active Row, Active Column is set on a Tree Control (indicator) property. I'm attempting to programmatically set the Tree Control using invoke nodes incrementing active column index first then active row and placing text in each cell at parent level. I thought I did this in the years ago programmatically successfully.

Is the only way to get active cell from a Tree Control is use mouse down event?

OK,

found my problem, the child input takes an array that populates the columns with names... where columns now exist....

Its been awhile since i used Tree Control.... as I said
