Producing audio output from acquired analog data

Hello,

I would like to ask if there is a possibility to produce some meaningful audio signal from the data I acquire with my DAQ.

The setup is so that I have a photodetector which produces analog voltage signal. I collect the data with USB 6363 via DAQmx, do some calculations with acquired data, and output that data on the graph in real time. It would be nice to have a feature of audio support of that graph output. Output is mostly gradually floating from some zero value to some maximum value, and back depending on the intensity of the signal arrived to photodetector. So, what i need is to have some gradually changing audio signal based on graph.

Look forward to your advise. Thank you.

Hi Anastasia,

if there is a possibility to produce some meaningful audio signal from the data I acquire with my DAQ.

Sure - once you define the term "meaningful"! 😄

Do you want to output a sine wave and only change the volume?

Do you want to change the audio frequency in dependency from your DAQ data?

Do you want to output the processed DAQ data?

Best regards,
GerdW

Hello GerdW,

Thank you for your reply.

Changing of volume of sine wave  seems to be the easiest for interpretation by human ear so that is indeed what I want. Output of processed datais established so only audio output is interesting.

I hope for further advice from you concerning that.

Hi Anastasia,

did you notice this function palette:

(German LabVIEW version, "Lautstärke" = "volume"…)

Best regards,
