Problems with scroll wheel logging vi.

We are trying to use a vi to log the movements of the scroll wheel throughout the day. I have been trying to adapt (without success) this vi that I downloaded to work not only when someone is using Labview but also when Labview is running in the background and other programs are in use. Unfortunately I have been unable to do this. Does anyone have a solution?? I am attaching the vi. Thanks for your time.

If you look at the "Create Windows Message Queue VI" you will notice that it has a VI that "Get Window RefNum VI". The Window RefNum that it is getting is the caller VI window reference. This reference is being used in the CLFN. I assume that windows messages are only valid when generated in this window. You might need to implement a method that would change this window refnum to the active window instead of the caller VI.
