Problem on placing and find VI on Labview help

Hi,

yes it seems to work for us, too.
But does someone know, if there is an official bug-fix from NI?
We use Windows 2000 with an automatic proxy-script and can not change the exception-list for 127.1.0.1.

Thanks,

Hey Guys,

Here is a KB that discusses this issue: Why Don't the "Place on Block Diagram" and "Find on Functions Palette" Options Work in Windows XP SP...

Hope this helps,

I am running Windows 2000 and having the same problem. So this is not related to just XP and SP2.

I am seeing same thing in XP and I do not have SP2 installed.

Can anybody please tell me how to fix this issue?

Also, from LabVIEW help when I click on application notes It does not open pdf help file which is linked. (Like Refer to the Application Note for more information)
I know I have all manual/documentation installed and present in labiew directory but somehow it is not linked.

Thanks.

I have this problem in LV 8.0 with Win XP SP2. I installed Windows patch, but the problem persists. I shut down my firewall, but it didn't help either. Any fixes to the problem, please. I'm using XP SP 2, LV 8.0 evaluation version, F-Secure Anti Virus Client Security 6.00 (the firewall of which I turned off) and Win XP SP2 firewall is also turned off. I have both MS antispyware beta and F-secure client security controlling IE setting changes. IE security level is custom.

Which software is making the request over the loopback connection and which software is receiving the request? I assume that request is made by iexplorer.exe which is used as a client by the help and the request is received by Labview.exe. Am I right?

Hi Tomi,

Please try stopping and restarting NI service locator as mentioned in this KB. Hopefully this should resolve the issue. If not, please let me know and I will see what I can do.

Regards,

Ankita

Starting NI Service locator manually helped. It's set to start automatically but for some reason it doesn't start.
