Problem installing NI-DAQmx Base on Fedora Core 6

I am trying to install NI-DAQmx Base 2.1.0 on a Fedora Core 6 machine, and am getting the following error:

Note: I had to use the install script inside of "nivisa" first, and got this message:

************************************ERROR*****************************************
* Kernel source in /lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2798.fc6/source does not appear to be
* for the 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 kernel.
* Ensure that kernel source for the 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 kernel is installed
* and configured. Refer to the README file for the product you are
* installing for informationabout configuring your kernel source.
***********************************ERROR******************************************

The root install complains of nivisa not being installed.

Any ideas? All help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Rocaz,

The only official version of Linux that are supported with NI-DAQmx Base 2.1 are:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 3

Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 4

Mandrakelinux 10.1 Official

Mandriva Linux 2006

SUSE Linux 10.0

SUSE Linux 10.1

The NI-DAQmx Base Readme file has all the basic steps of how to install NI-DAQmx Base.  It seems that NI-VISA is not being installed correctly.  Here is a great post from a customer who was able to get everything working on a non-supported version of Linux.
