Problem in configuring IP address in desktop PC RT target

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I am using Industrial PC (IMB Q670 R21) as my RT target. It has two ethernet ports out of which one is compatibe with LabVIEW RT. I have created USB Utility drive with LabVIEW 2012 and formated HDD. The PC boots into safe mode but the IP settings are not reset to 0.0.0.0. Earlier the same HDD was being used on another RT target PC with which LabVIEW RT programs were working fine. I need two RS232 ports on RT target so I changed my target PC and trying to use as RT target.

The problem now I am facing is that the IP address is not being set from host PC MAX. Even if I use USB utility drive to reset the IP address, it is not 0.0.0.0 Instead it is 169.254.25.246. This address is not even same as the previous RT target also. The error I am getting in MAX "There was a problem in saving your settings". I tried with ethernet hub as well as crossover cable with different addresses.

 Need help.

Hi RashmiM,

Connect your PC to the PC RT using crossover cable and change the settings via NI MAX in your PC. Before you do all that, have you tried to disable your PC (not your PC RT) firewall? If you haven't please disable the firewall before proceeding. This may be due to either your firewall or antivirus or both.

Hi Lennard C,

Thanks for your reply. As you mentioned correctly, I have already solved the problem by disabling the Firewall. That was the cause of the problem.

thanks once again,
