i am trying to build either a stand-alone app that can be run on a computer without LabVIEW installed but having the LabVIEW run time engine or an installer (exe) that can be run on a machine without even the run time engine. the original VI is running successfully on computers having labview installed. however, the stand-alone application couldn't be built by me ('build unsuccessful' error message displayed) and the exe, although successfully built, is having a problem. when run on a machine without labview, what opens is a sort of static front panel window that doesn't resemble the original vi at all. moreover, it asks for 'project paths' and 'destination paths'. it has all controls dead and cannot be manipulated in any way.
i am using LabVIEW 2010 on Windows XP.
i have followed the standard procedure given in the LV application builder manual (attached).
Plz help!
