Preserving time information using waveform data type

Hi:

I have a waveform of the old bundled cluster format with t0, delta t, and amplitude array.  My t0 is 20 rather than 0.  I want to convert to the 'new' waveform data type (I believe started in LV6) which wants a time stamp as its t0.  When I convert my t0 information to the time stamp format, it loses the actual t0 I had.  How do I preserve this information and still use the 'new' waveform data type?

Thanks,

Don

Hello Don,

You said: " When I convert my t0 information to the time stamp format, it loses the actual t0 I had."  What exactly is lost?  How do you convert your t0?

Can you pose an example of your conversion process and note the results you expect?  That way I can see what you are doing and hopefully, can help.

Regards,

AG

Hi Don,

I see what you mean.  This is happening because the waveform is set to ignore the time stamp in the configuration you have, and therefore simply plots the data against the index of the data array.  However, if you right-click on the graph, and uncheck the option "Ignore Time Stamp", you will see the same result as your original intent.

One thing to notice is that time 0 in LabVIEW refers to the year 12/31/1903.  If you want to refer to a relative time, you can change that in the properties of the graph.

Hope that helps,

AG

Yes, I forgot to look the righ-click menu options.  Thanks so much.
