Unfortunately NI makes it really hard to put picture rings on the block diagram.

Nope, but on the flip side.   I got frustrated this week drawing a meaningful diagram for a spec docx  finally just opened a blank BD in LabVIEW and the LabVIEW data\Glyphs folder in Windows explorer.  Drag-n-dropped from W.E to BD and used the CCT to save a PNG for Word to get.
