Parity Bit

How can i make a fast change of the parity bit? I want to make a nine bit
serial transmission and the parity bit shall be the ninth bit. when i simply
change the serial parameters, it costs a lot of time and i can`t realise a
9600bit/s transmission. I have to change the state of the parity bit during
the transmission. Has somebody a solution?

I don't think what you are trying to do is possible. Changing the serial parity bit requires reconfiguring the driver, which is inevitably going to take time. The ideal would be to configure the driver to use 9 data bits, but "data bits" only has a range between 5 and 8.
