Package conflict, Mandrake 9

I have a fresh install of Linux Mandrake 9.
When I run (bash) the INSTALL script from the command prompt, it gives me the error (before actually installing anything)
"All available LabVIEW packages have already been installed or cannot be installed due to package conflicts."
It quits saying "installation complete." which is is lie.
whoami root
glibc version 2.2.5
RPM version 4.0.4
Mozilla 1.1
Desktop is KDE 3

What is the package conflict or why would it think Labview is previously installed?

Hey Batman,

I don't know what version of LV you're installing but when I used the LV
6i version they gave me the option of doing a no RPM installati
on. That
way it doesn't check for all those lame dependancies. Does the 6.1 version
gives you that option? Try it.

I never use RPMs so I can't help in trouble shooting in that area.

I think that could work, though I'm having a problem keeping my cdrom active long enough to impliment it.
The norpm way didn't have very clear instructions.

I am running now: Method used was a manual installation similar to the "Installing Labview 6.0 on RedHat 7.1 with KDE." But nor running the last two lines (which contain the --force command) The file names are all different but similar, being the same in the first two parameters to identify the correct file name and sequence.

Hey batman,

If you need drivers take a look at:

http://stm.lbl.gov/comedi/

I've used some their drivers in LV for Linux and
they work great.
