Does anyone have much experience with these things? I have one installed,
and it is horrible. I used the open-loop tuning procedure, and got the
following results:
Pb=9.74
reset=2.33
rate=0.5822
K=0.7143
To get this, I turned up my power from 50% to 55%, and got a dead time of
1.1644 minutes, and a time constant of 6.83 minutes.
With the results of all of this, my furnace is extremely slow to adapt to
change, and will overshoot a temperature by 50% (i.e. a 100 degree
increase in temperature increases at least 150 degrees before the
temperature starts to drop back down).
What I have noticed is that the power increments are extremely small. It
adjusts the power by hundredth of percent increments. It needs to do it
by tenths. Also, a
s I have already said, it overshoots horribly.
