Kamal;

Other ways to access a third party device is via ActiveX, sending commands via the system exec VI, etc. However, my guess is that you need to try harder with the .dll

Make sure you check the following articles: An Overview of Accessing DLLs or Shared Libraries from LabVIEW and External Code for LabVIEW - CIN / DLL - Starting Point

The article "Can LabVIEW C? - Example 3: Using the Right Tools with LabVIEW" is an excellent starting point.

I don't know about that camera, but if it is a webcam, you can do a search on toolkits to access a webcam from LabVIEW.

Regards;
Enrique

Hi Kamal,

For your camera to work you must be able to view it in MAX. There are some steps listed below to try and help you,

Ensure you have the latest version of NI-IMAQ installed, at least version 1.5.1.

Check the latest driver version is installed for your firewire card or built in ports (This proved to be the source of the problem with the Unibrain card).

Look in the device manager (Control Panel»System»Hardware Tab»Device Manager). Both your card and the camera should appear.
The firewire card should be listed under firewire controllers and the camera should either be listed either under the controller or the imaging devices tab. If this is not the case, go back to steps 1 and 2 to check the drivers.

Once you can see the camera under the Device manager, right-click it, select properties and go to the drivers tab. Check that the camera is using the “NI-IMAQ for 1394” driver.

After successfully completing all of these steps, re-open MAX and press F5 or select View»Refresh. Under the NI-IMAQ IEE 1394 devices tab you should see a Generic Camera listed. Right click the camera and select the correct camera file.

I hope this helps you if not please don't hesitate in getting back to me.

HI Seamus C
I try accroding to your suggations but no progress.
I have following problem:

My operating system is windows NT so I dont have path that you mention (Control Panel»System»Hardware Tab»Device Manager). but in control panale I have Devices option. There I see the device name CC.

You know I am using a third party camera so it is not comportable with NI hardware thats why I am trying to operate the camrea by using call libaray function.

I have NI IMAQ. How I will get the list IEE 1394 camera list?

Is it possible to operate my camera (I mean it is not comportable with NI hardware) by MAX?

Thanks

Thanks for reply.
My Camera is C CAM product. Camera name CCf15. I am using LabVIEW 7. and my operating system is Windows NT 4.0.
I try to get data by call library function. Here I send my LV code and dll as well. I have problem CC_CaptureSingal function. This function is not working properly. I know you don't have the camera but you may check my code.

Hi cctt126,

Thank you for using National Instruments.  A few questions for you:

1.  Are you using LabVIEW or IMAQ or any NI Products?
2.  What is the camera that you are using?
3.  Is the camera using a 3rd party driver?

Maybe if you described your system I could help you better.  Also, does this post have relavance to the posts above?  Perhaps this should have been a new thread.

Thanks!
