OpenG Application Builder Tools v1.0 beta released

We have released the first beta version of the OpenG Application Builder (OGAB), which extends the functionality of the LabVIEW Application Builder in several ways.

It can be downloaded from http://ogab.sourceforge.net .

Features:

  • Build LabVIEW applications programmatically in LabVIEW, by double-clicking on .bld files from Windows Explorer, from ActiveX calls or within batch files

  • Fix the executable date bug

  • Settings for Open Source applications, keeping Front Panels and Diagrams in build executables.

  • Tools to implement your own features in the Application Builder

  • Open source project

Currently, only LabVIEW 6.0.2 for Windows is supported. LabVIEW 6.1 f
or Windows planned to be supported. Your collaboration to support other platforms is welcome.

Does this NOT work with LV6.1 yet or are there just some limitations in how it works with LV6.1? Is there anything that can be done from the field, so to speak, to help expedite any future release of support for LV6.1? And what is the projected release date for LV6.1?

It looks very good....

It is rather complicated to describe the information required to port the OGAB to LV 6.1. It is not extremely hard, but it will take about a days work and some testing. Basically the OGAB_Wrappers.llb VIs need to be updated to include wrappers for all of the .\project\prodisttool.llb VIs. We are waiting until the LV 6.0 development settles down and then we will work on porting to 6.1. We wanted to support both and it is much easier to port from 6.0 to 6.1 than visa versa. If you want to get involved, I am more than happy to get you up to speed. Start by reading the manual, then email me at SourceForge ( http://sourceforge.net/sendmessage.php?touser=288901 ).
