Only NI-RIO 2.4 Minimal available in MAX

Hi I am trying to upgrade the software on my cRIO 9004 but after installing NI-RIO 2.4, MAX only allows me to install "NI-RIO 2.4 Minimal".  NI-RIO 2.4 is greyed out and has the following warnings:

Network Variable Engine 1.4.1 (older version available on host)
NVE Common 1.4.1 (older version available on host)
LabVIEW PID Control Toolkit 8.5.1 (older version available on host)
Modbus I/O Server 1.4.1 (older version available on host)
DataSocket for LabVIEW Real-Time 4.5.4 (older version available on host)
NVE Core 1.4.1 (older version available on host)
Variable Client Support for LabVIEW RT 1.4.1 (older version available on host)

So if these software versions are not on my RIO 2.4 disks, could somebody please tell me where I can download it from?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Anthon,

This is most likely because NI RIO 2.4.0 has been installed on a host machine that has LabVIEW Real-Time 8.5.0.  Since in NI RIO 2.4.0, provides support for LabVIEW Real-Time 8.5.1, the Recommended Software Set are looking for versions (Network Variable Engine, Modbus IO Server, etc ) of software that are updated by installing LabVIEW Real-Time 8.5.1 and not by NI RIO.

If you want to use the Recommended Software Set, then you'll need to install LabVIEW 8.5.1 and LabVIEW Real-Time 8.5.1.  If you don't want to use the Recommended Software Stacks, you can perform a custom install and add the versions that are available on the host.

Here is more information on Recommended Software Sets

Hope that helps,

Thanks you were correct - I had FPGA 8.5.1 installed but still had RT 8.5.  Once I installed RT 8.5.1 the non-minimal RIO 2.4.0 was not greyed out anymore and I could download it to the cRIO target.

Cheers
