On LabVIEW Run Time Engine

I have developed some applications using LabVIEW and build these applications into execution file and run these built applications on PCs which only have Run Time Engine. And my applications involve the use of VISA driver (COM Port and GPIB). The problem now is that Run Time Engine seems to be not sufficient enough to run applications that involve the use of VISA. Does this means that I need to install VISA option of a licensed copy of LabVIEW into these PCs? If it is so, that means I need to acquire extra licenses of LabVIEW with the purpose of just installing VISA option?

There used to be a Visa runtime to install for .exe with visa in it. I don't know if it is still the case .

Try to search for visa runtime on NI site.

You have to install the VISA Run Time Engine on the target machine. It can be downloaded from from NI web site.

If you are using LabView 7/7.1, and if you are only using serial communications. You may enable serial port support during the build-application process (under advanced...),. It will include the few necessary files to do the serial commmunications). If you do that, there is no need to install the VISA Run Time Engine on the target machine

When you installed the GPIB board in the other pc, you should also have installed all of the software that came with it. That includes VISA, NI-GPIB, and MAX. The purchase of a GPIB board includes a fully licensed version of VISA.
