Obtaining older versions of Labview?

I recently upgraded my version of Labview from 6.1 -> 8.2.  Unfortunately, this leap-frogged our production version of 7.1.  Now, I cannot transfer my 8.2.1 VIs back to our production systems.  Is there any way to do this, other than to get 8.0, and do a 8.2->8.0, and then a 8.0->7.1 migration?

How can I get v8.0?  Part of the original problem was that our IT people could not figure out how to get me a new 7.1 license.

Does NI offer a migration service?

Thanks,
Jonathan Ashbrook

No backups of the original code? Ouch!

Maybe if you post the vi's, we can convert them back for you

Just get the 8.0 evaluation version, convert all your projects down during the evaluation period, then uninstall it again:

To answer the question regarding getting a 7.1 license: I don't know if NI has changed the way the do their licensing, but you can install any version of LabVIEW you want as long as you have a license. Thus when you buy LabVIEW you'll get the latest version on media. The important thing is that you have a license. You don't actually have to install that version. You can install a previous version (as long as you can get the media), and use the license you acquired with the new purchase. I've had to do this in the past when supporting installs of earlier versions, and that's what NI told me to do. The trick is to get the media for the earlier versions, but it sounds like you already have that.

Just an additional datapoint.

I just received the 8.5 version under SSP and the letter indicated a new system where the license number no longer changes, but will be always the same for each user. This will possibly make installing any older version even simpler, because you can use the same number for everything.

I don't know if this is only under SSP or in general.

I'll look at it once more when I get to work.
