Hello,
I was installing LabVIEW 2015 and got the error in the image below:
"
The "VISA.NET Shared Components 64-Bit" installation has failed with the following error:
VISA Shared Components 5.5 or higher must be installed before installing VISA.NET Shared Components.
Continue"
"
I pressed continue but am confused/concerned.
I am concerned because for the software/program I plan to use on this computer, I will need NI VISA - 5.3 (or compatible)
I can get NI VISA 5.4 or 5.41
https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-visa.html#306016
but the error references 5.5 or higher. There is no 5.5 available from the link above and the next lowest version is 14.0
BUT I am installing LabVIEW 32 bit and the message references 64 bit which confuses me.
Does anyone have any insight to this?
Thank you

Around 2014 NI changed versioning on NI-VISA to match the year, just like LabVIEW editions, with ".5" versions being the equivalent to the service pack release of LabVIEW mid-year.
So to pair with LabVIEW 2015 you probably want NI-VISA 15.5 to match exactly, or you could go as high as 18.5 if you like because they should support their own year plus the 3 previous years.
I can't explain the missing "5.5" version though... maybe it was renamed to 14.x at some point but not in the error popup?

I tried installing 15.5 but got the same error:
and same error with trying 18.5:
any suggestions?

Do you have other Labview version installed in your computer?
1. If you want to install different Labview version, it's better completely install lower version Labview, VISA driver, DAQmax,.. first, then install higher version.
2. There are driver compatibility for different version, for VISA please refer to:
The labview2015 support NI-VISA 15 to 18.5
I suggest completely uninstall all NI software and related equipment driver, then reinstall them.

No, I only have 2015 installed.
Do you have any other suggestions?
It says I need VISA shared components 5.5
Should I try this: https://visa-shared-components.software.informer.com/download/#downloading
or try this suggestion:

I tried to install the compliance package that the other topic / post suggested but wasnt able to. Do you know what this message means?
Also I installed the package manager and it shows that NI VISA is already installed??? I got an error when trying to install it but it says it is there.
Anyone have any ideas or advise?
