Hi, I am trying to get my NI USB 6009 to work on my PC with no luck so far. I have installed labview 2010 student edition no problems. I have then installed NI-DAQmx 9.0.2 driver for the NI USB 6009 (came on a CD with the product). This seems to install with no problems. Now, when I plug my 6009 into the USB port it makes a sound (got power / recognizes the device to a extent), but nothing happens. NI device monitor is installed but does not detect this. When I open up "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers" The NI USB 6009 has a yellow exclamation mark adjacent to it. I right click this and press 'troubleshoot' then click 'apply this fix' (install latest driver for this device), it searches but can't find one. When I go to install the driver again from the CD is says cannot install - NI measurement and automation explorer 4.6.1(higher version already installed).
Any advice on how I can resolve this issue would be much appreciated thankyou...

I had a similar problem. I ended up having to uninstall the WHOLE NI suite on my PC. And when I reinstalled the LabVIEW suite, I did not install the daqMX components, instead ONLY installing the ones that came with my 6009. Problem went away and I have been leery to upgrade ever since.

Howdy xxyxx!
Does the device show up at all in Measurement & Automation Explorer?
Please verify that the process nidevmon.exe is actively running on your system. If trying to update the driver for the USB-6009 through Device Manager is failing please try installing the latest version of NI-DAQmx downloadable here. After you have installed that, before you delete the installation files try updating the driver for the USB-6009 via Device Manager if it is still having problems.
Also, try using different USB ports on the computer.
