NI-MAX stops responding when trying to add a simulated device

I'm trying to add a DAQmx simulated device to the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and it stops responding after selecting the device.  I'm using version 4.2.1.   Reinstalling did not work.  Any ideas?

Hi Dav383838!

One thing that you can check is if the NI Device Loader si started. To check this go to:

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > NI Device Loader

Make sure it is started and try again.

Starting the NI device loader service fixed the problem.  Thanks for your help!
