NI-DAQmx driver support missing after updating LabVIEW

Solved!
Go to solution

I used DAQmx with LabVIEW 2016. However, evaluation edition of LabVIEW 2018 cannot find DAGmx 18.0. I removed DAQmx driver and reinstalled but it is still not working. What is the problem?

I attached error message which appears when I open vi using NI-DAQmx.

You failed to install enough of LabVIEW 2018 to support your application.  In particular, you failed to install DAQmx and/or the Device Drivers that you require.

Yeah, I reinstalled NI-DAQmx 18.0.0 from http://www.ni.com/download/ni-daqmx-18.0/7574/en/ and now the problem is solved.

I think the installer I used before did not work well...

I have same problem. After installation LabView 2018 and all the drivers, NI DAQmx is not seen.

I tried to install NI-DAQmx 18.6, and looks like it does not give me support for LV 2018 (see attached file).

I have LV2017 installed, it does not have such problems, I have NI DAQmx, and DAQ Assist tool there

Alexander_By,

If I interpret correctly your screenshot, it is showing that the NI-DAQmx installer is not finding LabVIEW 2018 installed in the system... I wonder:

  1. Did you install LabVIEW 2018 in the default hard-drive directory?
  2. Are you sure it's LabVIEW 2018 and not 2019? I would not expect DAQmx 18.6 to work with 2019.
  3. Have you tried with DAQmx 19.0? It should support LabVIEW 2016 - 2019.
  4. How about force reinstalling LabVIEW 2018 to make sure all items were placed in the correct places (including the system registry keys) so the DAQmx installer can fetch the installation?

All the best,

Hi, Oscar

Yes, I am sure that I installed LV 2018. Installed successfully and activated (see attached capture).

And again, the NIDAQ 1860f2 does not see LV2018 as installed, see attached picture.

I uninstalled LV2018 and installed back - same results. For sure, I accepted default folders

I have LV2017 on the same computer, it works well, and no problems with the drivers

It may be an "activation" problem.  Open NI License Manager, and see if all of your LabVIEW 2018 components are showing as "Activated".

Bob,

NI License Manages shows that it is Licensed. Or I'm missing something?

It puzzles me that the DAQmx installer does not find LabVIEW 2018 (per your screenshot)... can you try force reinstalling LabVIEW 2018 (if you have not already) and see if the DAQmx installer allows you to install support for it?

Were there any errors/warnings during the LabVIEW installation?

(If you have other machines) have you seen this behavior in other computers?
