.NET Database connection error (LV 8.2)

Okay folks... here is a good one for ya.

I wrote some Oracle db queries into LabVIEW 8.0.1 via .NET ADO using ADO 2.8. I later upgraded LabVIEW to 8.2 and everything works fine on my dev machine.
App builder it up, deploy to my target and I get "Ora-12154: TNS: Unable to resolve host name"
I can connect to the database on the same machine useing an 8.0.1 built exe of the same code, but get this error via .NET or ActiveX calls.

I am downgrading to 8.0.1 for the time being... regretfully.

Anybody else have similar issues after upgrading to 8.2?

Matt,

I am not a DB expert, that said:

1) This type of error is usually caused by syntax errors.  Is there any way your syntax changed from when you built in 8.0 to when you built in 8.2? Is the hostname in the TNSNAMES.ORA of the database server on both the dev and target machines? Here is a post that refers to a similar error on an Oracle forum.  Is the version of ADO the same on the target machine?

2) Have you tried creating a very simple project in both LabVIEW 8.0.1 and LabVIEW 8.2 that replicates the problem? If you can, post the code here and I can get someone in R&D to look and see if there is anything in LabVIEW 8.2 that would cause an executable not to execute the query properly.

I emailed NI support. The lack of attention I am getting on this problem here in the forums tells me that this is at least somewhat unique. I will post a follow up if/when a solution is found.

Thanks.
