Multiple GPIB controllers?

I have a computer hooked up to a network analyzer for some simple data
collection with labview. Recently, I had to hook the same network
analyzer to another computer running different software, which also
was doing some GPIB interfacing. Now, when I hook the network
analyzer to the original testing computer, it does not send any data.
Is it possible that instruments can be "confused" when 2 different
controllers have talked to it?

Never had a problem with moving instruments. Was the address changed when it was moved?

Hello,

In addition to making sure that the primary address of the instrument and board have not changed, you can send an interface clear. This will clear old errors and assert Controller in Charge. Also, you can run NI-Spy (depending on OS) to help determine if any errors are occuring. The following website lists GPIB errors and possible reasons.

Good luck.
