Moving items from a listbox to a multicolumn listbox

I'm new to LabVIEW programming and my only previous experiences were in C which makes things even more complicated. So my problem is that I have several items in a 1D listbox from which I want to select one and move it to the second column of a multicolumn listbox and this as often as needed. I've tried around with the replace array subset VI but am not getting the results I want. I think that I have to use one or more shift registers but I'm not sure. Can someone help me please?
