Moving Horizontal Slide Bar without a mouse

I have to be able to support mouseless operation for the controls on my labview front panel. Most keyboard substitutes are pretty intuitive, however I have not yet been able to figure out how to move a Horizontal Slide Bar without a mouse. Does anyone know how to do this using the keyboard?

Try pressing the Shift key and with it pressed then use the Up and Down arrow keys

You can use an event structure with the key down event for the control, then with some logic you can determine which key was pushed and then increment or decrement it. See the attached example and look for examples on how to use the event structure.

Tried using the shift, ctrl and alt keys in conjunction with arrows but it didn't move the slide bar

It must be just the Shift key and then Up or Down arrow buttons.

They use the same key combinations for all incremental controls.

Yes, that's what I did. With the focus on my slide control, I pressed the shift key down, held it, and then pushed the up and down arrows. It didn't move the slide bar. Does it do it on your computer? Perhaps it's something else specific to my computer.

Absolutely it works on just about all computers I have come accross with Labview (That's quite a few hundred).

Iam using a HP computer with the Locale set for US English.
Tested it with both the left and right Shift keys just to be sure.

I ran a test VI with the RUN Continously button pressed, with a number of unmodified controls on it.

your absolutely correct, i put small test case together and it does move the bar. For some reason it doesn't in my larger vi, but I'm sure i can find out why with some digging. Thanks for help

If I remember correcly the SHIFT key is an accelerator (pointed out to me in this forum some time ago) hence I mention it to make the pointer move a long way.

I believe you should be able just to use the arrow keys on their own.

What version of LabVIEW are you using? Pressing up or down works with 6.1 and for 7.0 or higher, just using the left or right cursors work. Are you sure you have focus and are you shour the slider is a control?
