Modulation Toolkit installation

Hi,
I have problem installing my modulation toolkit. I am able to install at the 2nd time i open the program after inserting the disc into the CPU. However when i search for the files i saw the files were downloaded into three different folder LabView 8.0,8.2 & 8.5. When i tried to open those files randomly from folders, there is error stating that the file is a later version so it cant open. I am using LabView 8.2 yet the error appear in files which i opened from the 3 folders. I think it had installed 3 similar folder of files of Version 8.5. But actually i click on LabView 8.2 feature. (i have forgotten what i have clicked on to start the installation.)When i tried to re installed again by deleting the modulation example folder, i couldn't installed anymore. it appear something like that. Yet when i select remove features it will go to next page checking the agree or disagree button.

Hey Serina,

Are you able to see the Modulation Toolkit VI's in your functions palette? See the image below for where they are found. When you double click a VI, it will open it in the last version of LabVIEW that was run. This means if you try to open the VI's in the LabVIEW 8.5 folder with LabVIEW 8.2 then it may give you the version error. I would suggest just using the VI's from the functions palette rather that finding the files directly in the folder. It is much easier to access the VI's this way and you can ensure you are opening the correct version VI's.

Hi,
I have already tried the method but nothing will appear on the block diagram, or the same error message will appear sometimes. I presumed i had already had the modulation toolkit but i did not know initially so i re installed again but i had forgotten what i had click on to begin the installation. 3 new folders appear (LabView 8.0,8.2 & 8.5)and a modulation toolkit (i have no idea the folder already exist before the installation a few days ago the date was dated 07May2008) with one single file "zAModtLV80i1.cab" which i cant open. I just tried to install again but the summary page 'no feature will be install' come up again, i tried to del 8.0 to see if other version will be install too but i cancel during halfway of progress and i just check the 3 folders it is up to date 09May2008 which is today..?? I am very bewildered..My main problem is i cant even run my own exercise for now. What had happened or changes after i tried to install the toolkit? I had accidentally permanently deleted the examples folder in the 2 folder, and only LabView 8.2 was left but i think there is no relation in the error appeared. I am see the vis in the folder of LabView 8.2 which i mention i cant use when i click on it by the folder error message appear again! My only solution is to reinstall LabView and everything??

Hey Serina,

Let's try completely uninstalling the Modulation Toolkit and starting from scratch. When you tried uninstalling it before, did you do it from Add/Remove programs? To do that goto the Windows Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs. You can then find National Instruments Software, find NI LabVIEW Modulation Toolkit, and then click Remove. I would then go in each of the LabVIEW folders under vi.lib » addons to make sure that the modulation folders are gone in each of them. Next, let's restart the computer and then reinstall the toolkit.
