MAX adding a Network Device (TCP/IP)

Solved!
Go to solution

I'm trying to introduce a new network device onto my system following a tutorial that I was given (attached to this post). When I open the MAX, I should be able to open the 'Devices and Interfaces' tab in order to access 'Network Devices' and select the 'Create New VISA TCP/IP Resource...' option. However, I can't open the 'Devices and Interfaces' tab (see attached screenshot) nor right click it.

May it have to be with me using an Evaluation Version of LABVIEW? We ordered the software but are still pending to receive it.

Thankyou

I am not aware of NI Max being limited in this way for evaluation versions of LabVIEW.

If you simply select the Devices and Interfaces menu, there should be a "Create New" button at the top of the main pane.  At least this is what I see in MAX 14.0.0f0

When you installed LabVIEW, did you install device drivers?

There are a number of other posts on the board with same issue.

Seems like this is usually due to lack of drivers.

Perfect, you were right. The second link (http://forums.ni.com/t5/Real-Time-Measurement-and/right-click-quot-Devices-and-Interfaces-quot-does-...) drove me to the solution.

Thankyou very much for your help
