Load Cell

I am using two load cells in an application.  The only info I have for these two load cells is 3000 micro-strain = 1000 kgf.  I have come to realize that I need more information to input into MAX in order to obtain proper readings from these load cells properly.  Can anyone tell me what I need and what type of input I should use in MAX (vooltage, strain, custom voltage, etc.).

Thank you,
Lowell

Strain gauges usually use a bridge type detector, usually pretty well defined by the load cell manufacturer.  I'd check with the manufacturer first, if you can get that information.  YOu will need to do end point calibrations as well as some in the middle.  They can be pretty temperature sensitive too.

The bottom line is, you usually can't just plug them into a DAQ card without the proper signal conditioning.

Eric,

That is what I thought, but I wasn't sure.  I am fairly new to Data Acquisition so I am still learning.  Thank you for your help.
