Line-out through an image and plot the profile in LV7.1

Hi,

Is there a way to read in a U16 grayscale TIFF image in the professional development version of LV7.1, or do I need to get an added toolkit?

Thanks,

Nathan

Sorry, I forgot to change the title of the post. My question was going to be regarding the title, but I realized that it was premature if I can't read in the image.

Hi poling23,

Hows it going? No problem on the post title, it shouldn't hurt anything.

To answer your question, due to a more complex file format, the ability to read tiff images is typically not found in every program. Though LabVIEW supports basic reading of .bmp and .jpg images, it does not have the ability to read and display .tif images.

On the other hand, the Vision module does. The Vision module supports reading .png, .tif, .jpg and .bmp files, but also includes powerful utilities such as pattern matching, optical character recognition and Vision Assistant, an application to quickly prototype and develop any vision based applications.

More information can be found on NI's Machine Vision webpage.

Let me know if you have any questions!
