I am thinking of running my LabVIEW-application on a Windows 7 PC, connected to a NI FPT-1015 touch screen.
This touch screen is as far as I know connected via USB & VGA to the PC and acts as a monitor and a mouse.
If I select a LabVIEW text-control with the cursor, is it possible to have the Windows 7 on screen display pop up?
In other words : can I use some Windows 7 touch screen functionality, and will this work out of the box,
or do I have to take care of this programmatically? Use some kind of toolkit?
Thomas.

Hello Thomas,
There is indeed a USB&VGA interface between the touch screen and the PC, so that it can "act as a monitor and a mouse".
Officially National Instruments does not supply the drivers for the FPT-1015 on Windows 7 (it does for Windows 2000/XP). However, PenMount has a universal driver that will allow the FPT-1015 to be used with Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit).
This driver can be downloaded from the following webpage: http://support.advantech.com.tw/support/DownloadSRDetail.aspx?SR_ID=1-HUX6J6&Doc_Source=Download
Can you give some more information about what you would like to see when you click on a text control?
Do you want that a "virtual keyboard" appears in that case?

That's right, I was thinking of a virtual keyboard (or an on-screen-keyboard).
Thanks for your reply!
