Labview source code control vs. Clearcase

I have a Solaris environment, and I have conflicting advice for source code version control, I am being told to use Labview Source Code Control, by one person (a programmer), and Clearcase LT for Windows by another person.

Which will give me a more functional source code control environment?

It is highly recommended. I have never used Clearcase with LV, so I cannot comment.

However, you can start by trying the LV Source Code Control. If it works well, stick with it. Some source control do not work as well with binaries. This was a few years ago, so it could have changed.. but if you are happy with the one from LV, then that should be fine. Of course programmers always prefer what they are used to, so that could be the motivation behind recommending Clearcase (it could also be company policy).

Use what works for you. And keep that precious code safe.. 🐵
