Labview on AMD chipset

I have always heard that with most C/C++ compilers that a pentium
platform is preferred. Since Labview seems to be written primarily in
C/C++, I would assume that this extends to cover Labview also? Is this
assumption that I have heard from programmer's in my "neck of the woods"
that the pentium platform is more stable a folktale without any
foundation?

I don"t see any difference and I have both, lots of memory is the key. A
good graphics card and big monitor help also.
