Labview not working when network not connected??

Hi, when labview is not connected to the network via ethernet, it stops working correctly. Some of my vi's that i have created, require to work when this happens. Is there any way to run labview whilst not connected to the network??

What you have done in your vi? Are you using any VISA functions in ur VI? If so without ethernet connection you can't able to communicate with your instrument (if you are using any).

Please post in bit detail. LabVIEW not working means what's happening? Is your program returning any error code?

There may be the chance that you might have used the microsoft web designing active x object in your code. post your code so that we can narrow down the problem.

Hi,

What do you mean when you say LabVIEW is not working?  Is it that your code runs, but not as expected?  Will LabVIEW simply not load up at all?  Do you see any error messages?

Hopefully with this information I will be able to help solve your problem

Hi, when the ethernet cable is not plugged the labview runs really slowly and eventually crashes. As soon as i plug it in, its fine. I'm using fieldpoint as well, over the ethernet. But through a switch. so when the main network ethernet cable is unplugged the field point should still run as a local network.

How do the PC and the fieldpoint controller get their IP addresses?  If they are getting them dynamically from a DHCP server at a level above the switch, you might be losing the IP addresses once the "main network cable" is detached.  You won't have a local network unless those IP addresses are statically assigned and the devices know each other exist even if you lose the main network cable.
