Labview not working on my Dell brand PC.

Hi  everybody,

I  have  a  problem  with  labview  program on  my  Dell  PC(laptop).

I  use  a  special  equipment control  SW  working  with  labview.  After  starting  equipment  control SW  program,  I have  the following error:

I install first 2009 labview,  2015 labview patch  and  NI_VISA_RUNTIME_ENGINE, then reboot  my  PC, I  have this error(my  PC  is  Dell brand PC).

I  also install  the same  program on to Lenovo   PC  and  no  problem,  working  fine.

I  have  the problem  for only  Dell  Brand PC.

anybody help me  for this  error?

Thank you.

Veysel

There is a missing file ("Config_Flicker.txt") reported. Does that file exist in the path it is expected to?

Why is there no special installer for your "special equipment control SW" and why do you need to install LabVIEW to run your special software?

Best regards,

Hi,

"Config_Flicker.txt"  is  available and located  in  correct  path.

Regarding  "special equipment control SW",  the  program  for  controlling  special  equipment/device  was  designed  via  labview.  that's  why,  I  need  labview  should be work  properly.

Btw, I  also  upload  all of  the same  programs(equipment  program/software, NI  programs and labview)  into lenovo  brand PC,  no  problem,  everything  works  fine.

I'm pretty sure you're barking up the wrong tree; I don't think it has to do with the brand of PC, but a problem with the installation, which, if I followed the first post correctly, seemed kind of iffy.

I would not complain about the PC brand, rather the installation and particularly admin access rights for file read/write.

You don't need a LabVIEW installation when installing an executable built from the source code of that software. All you need is an installer routine, which includes all needed stuff!

Why do you install LabVIEW2009 and a "LabVIEW 2015 patch"? Why do you install a VISA runtime instead of the full VISA driver for LabVIEW? This all doesn't fit together…

Is that file really located in the right place AND does your account (or the account used to run that software) has the needed access right to open that file?

Does the Dell computer come with a (different) AntiVirus tool than your Lenovo computer? Are they using the same OS in the very same configuration/version?

Well I can tell you for a FACT that LabVIEW runs fine on DELL Commuters as Dell is the only brand of computers my company has bought for over a decade!

This is an installation, end user, or perhaps a file permissions issue.

What is "D:" drive?  Is it a network drive?  Maybe whichever computer shows the file as missing doesn't have access to that drive?
